Il a pour objectif de contribuer : à la démonstration de la nécessité de recourir aux œuvres de la philosophie africaine dans notre présent\, de leur pertinence notamment pour les questions sociales et politiques les plus urgentes\, en Afrique et dans le reste du monde ; à l’intégration du champ de la philosophie africaine\, à travers ses différences géographiques et linguistiques\, en même temps qu’à son ouverture interaréale et interdisciplinaire ; à un bilan des problématiques structurantes de son histoire contemporaine (définition de la philosophie africaine\, luttes de libération\, problème de l’ethnophilosophie\, articulation continentalo-diasporique\, nord et sud du Sahara\, mondialité de l’histoire et la situation africaines\, ou encore critique de l’histoire traditionnelle de la philosophie). Il a également pour objectif\, ce faisant\, de contribuer à l’introduction du champ académique à la philosophie africaine\, encore largement ignorée en France\, et s’ancre pour cela dans les initiatives institutionnelles locales : à l’Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès\, la création en 2021 d’une Unité d’Enseignement de philosophie africaine en Master\, l’organisation des Rencontres des Études Africaines en France en 2022\, puis la création de la Structure Collaborative de Recherche en Études Africaines animée par le séminaire « Les Afriques au pluriel » ; à Sciences Po Paris\, la création du parcours « Afrique » de la Licence et la fondation du programme « Afrique ». \nArgument — This symposium proposes to present works in African philosophy currently being carried out in France and internationally\, particularly in Africa. It aims to contribute to : demonstrating the need to refer to the works of African philosophy in our own time\, and their relevance to the most pressing social and political issues\, in Africa and the rest of the world; integrating the field of African philosophy\, across its geographical and linguistic differences\, while at the same time opening it up on an inter-area and inter-disciplinary level; to take stock of the structuring issues of its contemporary history (the definition of African philosophy\, the liberation struggles\, the problem of ethnophilosophy\, the articulation between the continent and the diaspora\, between the north and the south of the Sahara\, the globality of African history and situation\, providing a criticism of the traditional history of philosophy\, etc.).
