About the program:
The UM6P/CNRS International Postdoctoral Program is a scholarship program that offers unique opportunities for postdoctoral researchers to advance their careers and expand their research skills. This program provides funding and support to highly motivated UM6P PhD holders who wish to pursue advanced research training, engage in international and interdisciplinary collaborations, and gain exposure within the scientific community.
The program aims to promote excellence in research by facilitating access to world class facilities and international expertise, to enhance researchers’ scientific expertise and broaden their professional networks. The UM6P/CNRS International Postdoctoral Program not only benefits the participating researchers but also contributes to strengthening research cooperation and fostering academic partnerships between both institutions.
The UM6P/CNRS International Postdoctoral Program offers a unique and valuable opportunity for UM6P candidates to advance in their careers, gain international experience, and contribute to cutting-edge research in their field. It is an excellent opportunity for researchers to expand their skills, develop their careers, and establish themselves as leaders in their respective fields.
Benefits:
This Postdoctoral Research Fellowship program offers two to three-years (24 – 36 months) fellowships for junior scholars who have recently earned their PhD with honors (or the highest equivalent academic distinction). UM6P supports the recruited researchers through partial funding of the fellowship which can cover up to 50% of the salary.
Interested researchers shall submit an application together with the host organization, which can be any laboratory or institute within the CNRS. All disciplines are eligible for Postdoctoral Fellowships, especially research areas covered by the UM6P University.
The number of fellowships in each call is limited and they will be conditioned yearly.
Eligibility:
Researchers interested in the postdoctoral program:
- Should hold a PhD degree from UM6P. Applicants who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis but who have not yet formally been awarded the doctoral degree, or who are in their final year but have not yet defended their doctorate will also be considered eligible to apply.
- Should provide an Admission Letter from the host laboratory or institute that they are supporting the applicant’s research project. The Admission Letter must be signed by a CNRS Faculty member that is willing to serve as the supervisor for the applicant. If the supervisor has a Tenure-Track Faculty appointment, the term of the appointment must be enough to cover the two years of the Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Application:
Each researcher should prepare an application containing:
- The candidate’s Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- The UM6P PhD Diploma/ Thesis defense certificate or a UM6P CEDoc registration in the final year.

- Research publications or patents
- 3 supporting references & recommendation letters.
Selection Criteria:
To ensure that the candidate’s application aligns with program criteria, applications will undergo a review process, and will be evaluated by the CEDoc Research Committee, assisted by invited experts according to the following criteria:
The candidate’s curriculum vitae
The quality of the research proposal
All the decisions will be based on the principles and procedures of an open, merit, and equal opportunity-based process. The committee will rank the applications based on excellence, with particular attention to the academic achievements of the applicant, their personal statement, aptitude for research, and the research project proposal. If deemed necessary, the Committee may request an interview with the candidate. In this case, the candidate will be contacted and given notice with due time.
The admission committee’s decision will be communicated to the applicants through email by UM6P CEDoc.
